As we explore, we’ll look for the connections between past and present — how migration, trade, faith, culture and changing ways of life have shaped the Singapore around us, and how the city continues to evolve today.
Your interests and questions will help determine where those connections take us. The aim isn’t simply to see more places, but to come away seeing Singapore with a little more understanding of why it is the way it is.

Walk through today's Little India and discover a story that reaches beyond the familiar idea of an ethnic enclave.
From early industries and the cattle trade to places of worship, traditional businesses and changing communities, explore how work, opportunity and successive generations gradually shaped the neighbourhood we know today.

Sea, Faith and Trade
Walk through Kampong Glam, a neighbourhood that grew around Malay royalty and became a meeting place for traders, migrants and Muslim pilgrims from across the region.
Discover the Sultan Mosque's connections with the historic Hajj, alongside traditional businesses and a culture of books and learning. Together, they reveal how Kampong Glam was part of a much wider world.

Step into the neighbourhoods where much of Singapore lives day to day. Walk through a residential neighbourhood, visit a local market and see how public housing, shops and shared spaces come together to shape everyday life.
Then take the experience a little closer: share a local hawker meal in a Singaporean family home, with time to talk, exchange stories and get to know one another.

Sometimes, seeing differently begins with noticing more.
Years spent behind a camera have taught me to notice things that are easy to pass by. It might be a detail in an old streetscape, something unexpected beside something familiar, or a small moment of everyday life.
That way of seeing naturally finds its way into my guiding. It’s simply another way I can help you look a little deeper at the Singapore around you.
And if you enjoy taking photographs, I’m always happy to share a few simple suggestions along the way — using whatever phone you already carry.
MEET TIM
Singapore is a place I continue to discover myself — there is always another story, another connection or something I hadn’t noticed before. I enjoy sharing what I know, but I’m just as curious about the people I’m exploring it with — what interests them, the questions they ask and how they see things. That continuing curiosity is part of what I bring to every journey.
After many years working internationally, guiding allows me to meet people from different parts of the world. It brings together several things I’ve enjoyed for much of my life — meeting people, exploring places, photography and discovering the stories behind them.
