I love hawker centres, especially those away from the city centre. Very often you see the maestros of checkers - or is it Chinese checkers? I'm not sure myself! - quietly battling it out. Sometimes you get onlookers who with the quiet ways of Wise Men discuss the wisdom or folly of various moves, while some, I think, have monetary stakes on who will win!
